Pantilimon Man City future decided this weekend

Costel Pantilimon's future at Manchester City could be decided this weekend.

In the two-and-a-half years since he joined the club, Romanian giant Pantilimon has never played a Premier League game because of the form of Joe Hart.

But after his performance at Capital One Cup opponents Newcastle United, Pantilimon expects to keep his place for the clash with Norwich City.

The Daily Express says he was linked with moves to Hull and Fiorentina, among other clubs, during the summer, but decided to stay and fight for his place after reassurances from manager Manuel Pellegrini that there would be no favouritism - his team selections would be based on form, not reputation or past deeds. Now the patient Pantilimon, 26, will expect Pellegrini to be true to his word.

Considering Hart's misjudgment at Chelsea last Sunday was the latest of a number of mistakes for club and country, he will feel it is his turn now.
