Pantelidis leaves Gold Coast United for Bintang Medan

Steve Pantelidis has left Gold Coast United for Indonesian outfit Bintang Medan FC.

The 27-year old Melbournian is already in North Sumatra and has linked up with his new club for whom he has signed a contract running until December 31, 2012.

Pantelidis has already played two matches in the new Liga Premier Indonesia – a 2-1 away loss and a 2-1 win – in which the ex-Melbourne Victory man scored from a corner.

Some reports suggested that Pantelidis had joined PSMS Medan but he has in fact signed with Bintang for whom he has been made captain by German manager Michael Feichtenbeiner.

Whats the attrcation? Is it an over paid league? Indonesia have a couple of good players (budi and Bam Bang) but in all seriousness, why go there for club football?
