Gold Coast United midfielder Steve Pantelidis can see comparisons between his new club and former club Melbourne Victory.
The 25-year old was a member of the Victory team that took the title in 2006/07 and a member of the overall squad that won it last season and can see similarities forming on the Gold Coast.
"There are definitely some similarities with the feeling at Melbourne back in season two and also last season, even though at that stage I wasn't really so much a part of things," said Pantelidis.
"I'm not saying we'll win the title like them but the signs are really good for us.
"We have a winning mentality and we don't fear anybody. The belief after Friday's 2-0 win in Adelaide is stronger than ever."
Pantelidis said he was grateful to the new A-League outfit for giving him another chance to play at the top flight in Australia.
"Miron (Bleiberg) is letting us all express ourselves and we're playing with smiles on our faces again,'' he added.
"I'm grateful for a second chance and aim to repay his faith. I'm happy to be proving a few people wrong.''
