Pandev satisfied after winning Inter Milan debut

Goran Pandev was satisfied with a winning debut for Inter Milan at Chievo yesterday.

The former Lazio striker, who had not played for five months having been frozen out of the Biancoceleste squad, went close to ensuring he enjoyed a dream debut only for his initial shot to be denied by a brilliant stop by Stefano Sorrentino.

However, Pandev was still more than satisfied with his first performance in an Inter shirt.

"I am very happy that we got the three points, it was a great day," he said. "I am delighted to have finally returned to play after not playing an official game for five months.

"My team-mates are true champions, they have helped me a lot and I felt really good on the pitch.

"Inter are the strongest team in Italy and it is easy to play in a team like this one.

"I was close to scoring my first goal in the first half but the goalkeeper made a great save.

"It would have been marvellous to score on my debut but I'm nevertheless satisfied with the result."
