Goran Pandev's minders insist the striker will not seek to buyout his Lazio contract to get him a move away from Rome.
"The decision, albeit not one shared with us, must be respected only if it is a purely technical and tactical choice," said Pandev's lawyer Mattia Grassani.
"The player guaranteed to this club that he would not in any way have invoked Article 17."
The FIFA amendment allows players to buy themselves out of their contracts after three years, regardless of how many seasons are left on the deal.
"Pandev's behaviour speaks for itself," continued his lawyer. "From the first day of pre-season training, he has shown the utmost professionalism both on the field and off, proving how much he admires the Lazio colours and wants to help them achieve their objectives.
"Pandev is relaxed and determined to put himself at the service of Lazio every time he is called by the Coach.
"He just wants to be given the opportunity to play like any other teammate."
