Panathinaikos are prepared to sell Charis Mavrais to Sunderland.
The Evening Chronicle says the Black Cats have made a loan move for Mavrais after James McClean completed his £1.5million move to Wigan, but it was immediately knocked back by Greek club Panathinaikos.
They want it to be a permanent move - or nothing at all.
