Panathinaikos have stepped up their interest in Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi.

Pana representatives were in Milan yesterday to discuss the veteran's availability, encouraged after the defender admitted he would be open to a move to Greece.

However, after Cristian Chivu's injury, Inter may choose to hold onto the 36 year-old.
