Panamanian striker Yairo Yau joins Sydney FC

Sydney FC have announced the signing of Panamanian striker Yairo Yau on a one-year deal.

The 22-year old has joined the Sky Blues on loan from homeland club Sporting San Miguelito and head coach Ian Crook is very excited about the arrival of the Panama international and former Deportivo Cali young gun.

"We're very excited about being able to entice Yau to Sydney FC," said Crook. "He's a current Panamanian international and the boy can play.

"He's quick, direct, can play as a striker or a wide man on either side and he can cross a ball. He's played recently for Panama and we're thrilled he will be joining us for the 2012/13 season.

"We now have a good group of attacking options with Yau and Kruno Lovrek joining Joel Chianese, Nick Carle, Brett Emerton, Mitch Mallia, Ali Abbas and Dimi Petratos to give our Members and fans some excitement up front."
