Panama international Gomez joins Philadelphia Union

Philadelphia Union have announced the signing of Panama international Gabriel Gomez.

The 27-year old midfielder has joined the Union from Mexican Second Division side Indios de Cuidad Juarez and will become an official member of the squad upon receiving his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.

Gomez, also known as 'Gavilan', kicked off his career in Colombia with Envigado in 2002 before moving back to Panama with San Francisco and then returning to Colombia with Deportivo Pasto.

He went back and forth between Colombia and Panama with stints at Tauro, Deportivo Pereira and Santa Fe before trying his luck in Portugal with Belenenses, in Cyprus with Ermis and back to Colombia with La Equidad before joining Indios last year.
