Franco Brienza says he's happy he stayed with Palermo this season.

The midfielder was linked with several Serie A rivals, but revealed: "Palermo is like a family to me and I'm happy I stayed.

"I spoke with coach (Stefano) Colantuono and he convinced me to stay here. I know I will get chances to play this season."
