Palermo ace Javier Pastore has expanded on why he rejected Barcelona.
While on his winter break in Argentina, Pastore revealed he turned down both Barca and Real Madrid in 2010.
Now back in Sicily, Pastore was asked about his revelation.
"I'm fine here in Palermo, I am growing so much, it's the right time to stay here for my development. I believe that Barcelona is a team to go to when you're old enough, you go to Barcelona to play," he said.
"I think now if I went to Barcelona I would definitely be on the bench because there are amazing players who have already reached their ceiling. I have not yet done this, I should wait before going to a team so great.
"They were interested for right now, or June, but now there's nothing, I'm comfortable here. I think I have to grow even more so, I have to improve at Palermo."
Pastore added: "If Barcelona stay in touch, that will be great. When I'm ready to go to a team so great I would definitely like to go there."
