Palermo ace Fabrizio Miccoli has jumped to the defence of coach Giuseppe Sannino.

Club captain Miccoli remains confident in the new tactician's ability to turn the Sicilians around.

"It is not a good start to the season with zero points from two games, he told Sky Sport Italia.

"But we're lucky, we have a Coach like Sannino who relies heavily on field work. We are all with him and we will get out of this situation very soon.

"Now the market is closed, we will achieve significant results."
