Palermo have completed the signing of Grosseto striker Mauricio Pinilla.

The 26-year-old Chilean grabbed the headlines in Serie B last season when he scored 24 goals in 24 appearances.

Pinilla was attracting interest from several Serie A clubs, but Palermo have courted him the most, favouring him to Siena striker Massimo Maccarone.

The former Hearts striker has signed a four-year contract with the Rosanero.

Palermo youngster Marco Giovio was exchanged on a co-ownership deal as part of the transfer.
