Italian club Palermo are planning to throw Claudio Ranieri into their managerial merry-go-round.
Corriere dello Sport is reporting that the Sicilian outfit have the Italian as the frontrunner to replace Uruguayan manager Diego Lopez in the Studio Renzo Barbera hotseat.
Ranieri was brutally sacked by Leicester City a month ago but could be straight back in the coaching caper if new Palermo president Paul Baccaglini gets his way.
Maurizio Zamparini's replacement wants Premier League winner Ranieri to take the reins of the relegation-threatened Rosanero and lead them to Serve A safety.
Baccaglini plans to stick with Ranieri next season even if the club is relegated to Serie B.
The former Chelsea, Juventus, AS Roma, Inter Milan and Valencia boss would become Palermo's fifth manager this season and 11th over the past two years.
