Palermo's Zamparini says he would consider big Chelsea offer for Pastore

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that he would certainly ponder selling young gun Javier Pastore if a big offer came in.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea had come in with a £45million (€50m) offer for the 21-year old Argentine midfielder and although Zamparini says nothing like that had been received by Palermo, he did say that he would consider a transfer if this mooted fee was serious.

"How could anyone turn down €50m cash for Pastore? I never saw such an offer," he said, according to Il Giornale. "Do you think if they put that money on the table, that I would throw it away?

"I don't know if Chelsea ever made this offer. It might've been to his agent, but it never reached me. If it did arrive, then I would think about it carefully.

"Pastore is a player worthy of top clubs, like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Milan or Inter," added Zamparini.

"He is tied to the Palermo jersey, but he also looks at his wallet. How can I keep a player when elsewhere they are offering four times his current wages?

"We have already mapped out two teams with our new coach Stefano Pioli: one with Pastore and one without."
