Recent reports suggest that Chelsea had come in with a £45million (50m) offer for the 21-year old Argentine midfielder and although Zamparini says nothing like that had been received by Palermo, he did say that he would consider a transfer if this mooted fee was serious.
"How could anyone turn down 50m cash for Pastore? I never saw such an offer," he said, according to Il Giornale. "Do you think if they put that money on the table, that I would throw it away?
"I don't know if Chelsea ever made this offer. It might've been to his agent, but it never reached me. If it did arrive, then I would think about it carefully.
"He is tied to the Palermo jersey, but he also looks at his wallet. How can I keep a player when elsewhere they are offering four times his current wages?
"We have already mapped out two teams with our new coach Stefano Pioli: one with Pastore and one without."
