Palermo defender Simon Kjaer has now been linked with Tottenham after Spurs boss Harry Redknapp made a personal check on him.
Redknapp flew to Italy to watch the Denmark international in the Palermo versus Fiorentina match on the weekend as he plans an £11million swoop.
Kjaer has already been linked with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea but now Tottenham have emerged as a strong contender, especially after Palermo sports director Walter Sabatini had made a visit to London to speak with Tottenham officials.
Redknapp is in dire need of a strong centre-half with Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate currently battling injuries.
