Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has called on fans to show more patience over this summer's transfer market.
The Rosanero scraped to mid-table safety after going through three tacticians in one campaign.
"In the financial crisis it's tough to run a football club," Zamparini told the Corriere dello Sport.
"Some mistakes were made in recent years, but we are trying to make up for them. The fans need to have patience, though, as it's impossible to make big investments at the moment.
"I do want to point out that we are a healthy club that balances the books, setting a good example for other teams in Italy.
"I am doing everything possible, reconstructing the Board of Directors and securing a few transfer moves already. Just look at Milan who go searching for free transfers. This is the situation for everyone."
