Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini says coach Davide Ballardini has resigned.
While his departure has not yet been made official, it's not only a matter of time.
“This morning Ballardini sent me a message which categorically stated that he no longer wanted to Coach Palermo," Zamparini explained on Radio Action.
“Honestly, I didn't respond to the message, I delegated it to [sporting director Daniele] Faggiano. It's not the first time, he also acted strangely in Verona last year, going home after the game.
“I consider him a great Coach, but this is the person he is. I think he wants to go home regardless. Maybe it's for family reasons, but there's no conflict with either me or Faggiano.
“A replacement? I admit that [Roberto] De Zerbi [of Foggia] interests me a lot, he's a young Coach who has an attractive, attacking style.
“On the other hand, there's the experience of [Edy] Reja who could be a guarantee for the team. I'll take two days and then I'll decide."
