Palermo president Zamparini: Miccoli wants Lecce move

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has hit out at striker Fabrizio Miccoli, claiming he is pining for a return to Lecce.

"Miccoli wants to return to Lecce," he bellowed. "I don't want players who lack motivation.

"Most of all I don't want anyone who doesn't want to be in Palermo and so he will probably leave."

If Lecce manage to secure promotion from Serie B they are likely to look to strengthen in the summer and may need a new marksman.

However, Miccoli's agent Francesco Caliandro has poured cold water on the speculation.

"He has a contract at Palermo until 2010 and he intends to respect it," he insisted. "Fabrizio is enjoying life with the Rosanero and his aim is to get over all the difficulties he has had this term.

"Miccoli has expressed his desire to finish his career at Lecce on several occasions, but that doesn't mean that he wants to play there next term."
