Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini says Josep Ilicic is better than Napoli star Edinson Cavani.

Cavani has been sensational this season after joining Napoli from Palermo last summer.

"When players reach a certain value they must be sold, especially if a bigger club comes in for them and they are happy to leave," Palermo said.

"I believe the sales of Simon Kjaer to Wolfsburg and Edinson Cavani were inevitable.

"There's no doubt both were great players and I wish them all the best at their clubs.

"However, in their place, we have got two players who I think are far better in Sinisa Andelkovic and Ilicic."
