Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini says he's amazed by the reaction from Serse Cosmi over his sacking.
Last week, Cosmi broke his silence over the 4-0 derby loss to Catania, claiming Zamparini ordered him to play Javier Pastore when not 100 per cent fit and drop Fabrizio Miccoli.
“I never said Miccoli shouldn’t play,” replied Zamparini on Radio Kiss Kiss. “Fabrizio is my captain, the flag of Palermo and the player I care about the most.
“What did say was that he couldn’t leave out Pastore in such a difficult and important game. Don’t forget last time he faced Catania, Pastore scored three goals. He makes the difference and it would be like Napoli dropping Edinson Cavani.
“A balanced Coach doesn’t say things like that to the newspapers, especially because they weren’t true.
“I am amazed by his bitterness, considering he cost me €500,000, which is a grand total of €100,000 per weekend.”
