Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini feels vindicated after new coach Davide Ballardini masterminded their shock victory over Roma on Saturday.
"I am happy because I saw a team that played well. In the first 10 minutes we were nervous, but then reacted well," said the patron who fired Stefano Colantuono.
"Colantuono is an excellent Coach, but could not handle the pressure of a tough city like Palermo and a difficult President like me. Ballardini has a stronger character.
"It is always a traumatic decision to fire a tactician. I remember when I sent Giampiero Ventura home to pick up Gigi Maifredi and it was the stupidest thing I possibly could've done."
