Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed coach Davide Ballardini has asked to leave.

"Ballardini told me he wants to leave. I asked him to think it over until June 10 and if he still wants to terminate the contract, we will make him happy," the President told Radio Radio TV.

"We will try to get him to see sense. After months of a united front in running the team and a fine season, he had never said anything.

"I am truly disappointed, afflicted and perturbed. I have never found myself in such a situation and experience tells me another club is involved."
