Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini admits he's amazed Juventus didn't try to sign his Italy defender Andrea Barzagli over the summer.

Juve have had defensive problems upon their return to Serie A and Zamparini said: "I am astonished by the fact that Barzagli is so underrated.

"I cannot believe that Juventus have not asked me about signing him."
