Palermo have passed on signing former Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda.

Macheda has been a free agent since leaving Cardiff City in the summer.

Mediagol says agent Donato Di Campli saw Palermo's 1-1 draw with Crotone on Sunday.

But he was then told by Rosanero executives that the club were not interested in bringing in his client.

Macheda was formed in Lazio's youth team but has only played for one club in Italy, that being Sampdoria in the second half of the 2010-11 season.
