Palermo are close to seeing off all rivals to land exciting Flamengo attacking midfielder Renato Augusto.

Renato is regarded as the best No10 playing in Brazil and the Rio press say a move to Palermo is virtually a done deal.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is prepared to cough up £8 million for the 19 year-old, who will move to Sicily in January - if he can secure a European passport.

If not, then Palermo will wait until next season to welcome the exciting midfielder.
