Palermo chief Giorgio Perinetti insists they want to keep goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.

Sorrentino has been linked with AS Roma.

"We haven't spoken to Roma," Perinetti told Voce Giallorossa. "We have the option to sign him outright and we will be doing that.

"He is a player who we want to count on in the new campaign, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

"The market has only just opened and we made an important investment in January. We'd like him to be a pillar of the side, but you can never say never."
