Palermo defender Steve Von Bergen has welcomed the appointment of coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Rosanero President Mauricio Zamparini sacked Giuseppe Sannino three matches into the club's Serie A campaign last weekend.

"Gasperini has brought faith and tranquility to the entire squad," said Swiss international Von Bergen.

"He has clear principals, and makes everyone understand every time so we all know exactly what we are doing.

"We have had four training sessions, which were necessary as we quickly need to understand his objectives."
