Both Rangers and Celtic are chasing down the signature of Palermo defender Dorin Goian.
The centre-back Goian has failed to impress due to injuries and is on the market this summer.
Rangers made the first move with an offer of around €500,000, but it’s reported Celtic now hope to hijack the deal.
It’s believed the Hoops have proposed a more advantageous financial deal to snap up Goian for the SPL.
He is a Romanian international who joined Palermo from Steaua Bucharest in 2009 for €2m.
