Palermo defender Goian wanted by both Rangers and Celtic

Both Rangers and Celtic are chasing down the signature of Palermo defender Dorin Goian. The centre-back Goian has failed to impress due to injuries and is on the market this summer.

Rangers made the first move with an offer of around €500,000, but it's reported Celtic now hope to hijack the deal.

It's believed the Hoops have proposed a more advantageous financial deal to snap up Goian for the SPL.

He is a Romanian international who joined Palermo from Steaua Bucharest in 2009 for €2m.
