Palermo defender Carrozzieri fails drugs test

Palermo defender Moris Carrozzieri has tested positive for cocaine.

Carrozzieri tested positive for cocaine after the game against Torino in Week 30 and faces a career-altering ban.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has already commented and stressed his disappointment.

"This lad has received almost everything he could want and yet he has ended up in this mess," he growled.

"Of course this is a grave financial blow for Palermo, but rather than angry I am upset for Moris and will help him recover.

"He goes out clubbing too much. We tried to make him a leader at the club, but he has let himself down."
