Palermo defender Moris Carrozzieri could be hit with a two-year playing ban after testing positive for cocaine.
Carrozzieri confessed to taking the drug at a party last month when he failed a routine drugs test and had his first hearing with the Disciplinary Committee yesterday.
"Obviously the lad was a little disappointed, but we are just at the start of this journey," said lawyer Vittorio Rigo after learning the prosecution would push for a two-year suspension.
"Today was the first meeting and we hope the situation can evolve in a more positive way.
"In all honesty, we hope the collaboration shown by Carrozzieri with the authorities can bring him some sort of discount - if I can use that term - because the prospect of being out of work for two years could have very negative consequences for this man."
