Palermo coach Pioli plans to bring own style to team

New Palermo coach Stefano Pioli hopes to stamp his own style on his squad.

Pioli was officially presented to the media this weekend after replacing Delio Rossi, who notoriously had problems with President Maurizio Zamparini's interference.

"Everyone has their role and works within their area of expertise," said ex-Chievo boss Pioli.

"I have already spoken to President Zamparini and every meeting has been very positive. I'm sure there will be moments when our opinions contrast, but that is normal.

"I want a versatile approach to total football, where everyone must be active in attacking and defending. I want players with enthusiasm who are ready to sacrifice themselves for the team.

"We need men of quality, but also the right attitude, as without that you'll get nowhere. I don't know if I'll use a three-man defence yet."
