Palermo coach Stefano Colantuono insists defender Andrea Barzagli could still stay with the Sicilians next season.

"Barzagli is a valid and important player for us, he has asked to move on to a bigger team and Palermo will try to satisfy his demand," said Colantuono.

"However, if we don't get a good player in exchange Andrea will stay here. Palermo spent quite a lot to sign him and now we want to get a good deal."
