Palermo sports chief Rino Foschi has shut the door on a deal for Livorno goalkeeper Marco Amelia.

"The move for Amelia has been discussed for three months now, but I don't know why we bothered when we got this close and then they demanded such a ludicrous sum," Foschi told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"So we won't sign anyone. We already have Federico Agliardi and Alberto Fontana and we don't want to complicate matters by turning our attentions elsewhere."
