Palermo coach Delio Rossi has slammed the Italian Players' Association for comparing their members with factory workers.
Yesterday, Rossi responded to the AIC (Players' Association) calling a strike for the weekend of September 25-26.
"I agree with some of their demands, but not others. Clubs put great medical staff at their disposal. If you want to have an operation in Miami, you can pay for it. I'm not stumping up for you to have a free vacation.
"I also disagree with the idea that a club must let you play even if you're not part of the project.
"I do agree that players have the right to refuse a transfer if they are under contract. If I don't want to play in Istanbul because of family issues, then that is my right to refuse.
"What I do find ridiculous is comparing players to factory workers. You cannot compare this strike to others seen in the country. We are professionals, but handsomely paid."
