Palermo boss Rossi denies hooking Miccoli for losing it against Lecce

Palermo boss Delio Rossi has explained hooking Fabrizio Miccoli after he scored against Lecce yesterday.

Miccoli equalised before half-time with a wonderful free kick and not only did he not celebrate, but he seemed distraught and was replaced at the break.

"No, the substitution was entirely down to a technical decision," assured Palermo Coach Rossi after the 4-2 victory.

"At the end of the first half he seemed a little static and I decided to change him. Obviously playing in Lecce is not a game like every other for Fabrizio, but he did his part. If he wasn't prepared for that, then I would not have fielded him."
