Wilson Palacios is pleading with manager Steve Bruce to stay at Birmingham City.

Aware of Wigan Athletic's approach for the gaffer, the Honduras international told setantasports.com: "I hope that he is going to stay because he is a good coach.

"He backed me a lot and he is the one who made me do my first steps in The Premier League.

"If it is a good opportunity for him and if he wants to leave, then I understand his decision, because he has to do what is the best for himself.

"I do not wish that he leaves, but if he is replaced by another manager, I hope that this new one will like my football," he added. "If not, I will look at other options."
