Palacios: I don't know if brother aware of Spurs move

Wilson Palacios hopes his kidnapped brother is aware of his move to Tottenham.

There has been no trace of teenager Edwin Rene Palacios since five armed criminals broke into the family home in Honduras and abducted him in October 2007.

"I'm sorry but I just don't know if my brother even knows I have come to Tottenham," said the 24-year-old. "He might still think I play for Birmingham. I just wish he could see how well I am doing now."

Palacios' parents Eulogio and Orfilia were tied up while their youngest of four sons was abducted.

Only last week in an emotional TV interview, a sobbing Orfilia begged the kidnappers to "release my little Edwin Rene".

And Palacios, who has just signed a five-and-half-year deal at White Hart Lane worth £50,000 a week, admitted crossing the line to enter the football field helped him leave his troubles behind.

"Everyone knows the situation I'm in and what we're going through, but we get through it through football," Palacios continued "It is very difficult but the way to do it is to carry on concentrating on playing football. I don't know if there is any dialogue with the kidnappers, to tell you the truth.

"But we are confident that with the help of God it will come to a positive conclusion. I speak to my mother every day.

"Because of what we have been talking about, she had not had a chance to come over, but I hope that she can come over to give her a bit of a break from it."
