Tottenham signing Wilson Palacios says it was an agonising decision to leave Wigan Athletic.
"It has not been an easy decision to leave Wigan, but the offer from Tottenham was good for all parties," Palacios told the Sunday Mirror.
"Spurs have a great history and this will improve my international ambitions. I am going to give everything for the club, but I know it won't be easy to get a regular place in the starting XI."
His first job will be to help Tottenham in the relegation struggle. Spurs are currently 15th in the Premier League table with five other teams on 21 points.
Palacios is up for the fight though, believing he will have no problems adapting to life in the bottom half.
He added: "People have told me the manager was determined to sign me and he likes what I do on the pitch. I want to repay him by giving everything to Tottenham.
"I don't believe I will have any problems adapting to my new club because things are very similar in terms of how we work."
