Palace will meet buyout clause for Cardiff defender Caulker

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis is launching a bid for Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker.

The People says Pulis will spark a new war with Cardiff by bidding £8million for Caulker.

Relegated Bluebirds are still at loggerheads with the Eagles over an alleged leak of team news before the two teams met in the Premier League last season. Although the ill feeling still festers, there is nothing Cardiff can do to stop Palace luring England centre-half Caulker.

The former Tottenham man has a fixed fee in his contract - believed to be £8m - so all Palace have to do to net the big defender is match that figure.
