Crystal Palace striker Dougie Freedman has revealed he turned down a big-money move to Brunei in the hope the Eagles will offer him a new deal.
The 33-year-old has been free to talk to other clubs since the turn of the year but is desperate to remain at Palace and help the club's bid for promotion to the Premiership.
Speaking about his offer to play in the Far-East, Freedman added: "I was on holiday in Dubai anyway so I hopped on another flight for six hours to see what they had to say. The offer they made me was very tempting financially, but I've got a family and it just didn't feel right. I'd rather stay in England, ideally with Crystal Palace."
