Palace striker Chamakh determined to prove himself against Arsenal

Crystal Palace striker Marouane Chamakh is determined to prove himself against former club Arsenal today.

Chamakh has scored five times in 24 games since his arrival at Selhurst Park and has flourished in the deeper role new boss Tony Pulis has given him.

And ahead of this afternoon's clash against his former club, Chamakh said: "I think I've got a lot more confident since coming to Palace because I've had a lot more experience. The team is feeling confident, too, after the wins over Stoke and Hull.

"We are confident we'll be ready for the game against Arsenal.

"I'm very happy to be going back to The Emirates. I'm looking forward to seeing the players, the manager and the fans. I have some very good memories from playing at Arsenal.

"I learned a lot there. I learned about discipline and started to understand the English game and I have continued that since coming to Palace."
