Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak says he wouldn't be hit with an extra burden if he happened to be handed the Australian national team honours.
With doubts remaining over current skipper Lucas Neill's international future, Jedinak has been touted as a possible replacement for the veteran.
The 29-year old knows he would be up against some other leading figures, such as Tim Cahill and Mark Bresciano, but hinted that it is a position he would welcome if it ever came up.
"I think when you come into the Socceroos camp you do naturally what you do at your club," Jedinak said.
"I like to lead by example, you do that no matter what.
"We have a lot of strong characters with leadership qualities here.
"It's always good to have that when you come into camp."
