Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak has spoken highly of the act of sportsmanship performed by Jose Mourinho on the weekend.
Mourinho's Chelsea side, who sat on top of the Premier League table before last weekend's round of matches, were beaten 1-0 by Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday which saw the Blues fall to second behind Liverpool.
It was a surprise victory for Australian midfielder Jedinak and his Eagles teammates but that did not stop a humble Mourinho from congratulating them in their rooms after the match.
"After the match, our gaffer (Tony Pulis) had just finished saying well done to us when the opposition manager walked in and said: 'Well done, congratulations, and all the best'," Jedinak revealed.
"It was short and sweet, but it was a nice touch. He didn't have to do that. After losing a game, no-one is particularly happy, but it says something about the manner in which we did it.
"We were absolutely chuffed to bits. It can give you a little bit of a boost."
Jedinak will be hoping Palace can kick on from the Chelsea win when they travel to south Wales to take on Cardiff City this weekend. The Eagles currently sit 16th on the table, five points clear of the drop zone.
