Crystal Palace are pushing for a quick agreement over West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie.
The London Evening Standard says negotiations have begun over the size of the fee, with West Brom looking for £2.5m. The club would prefer the transfer to take place before they go away on a pre-season tour next week. If a permanent deal can't be agreed, Palace still want to sign the forward on loan.
The 31-year-old is believed to be on around £40,000 a week but Palace hope he will agree to take a pay cut to move to Selhurst Park.
