Crystal Palace have made a late move for former Stoke City boss Tony Pulis.
The Mail on Sunday says Pulis is the No 1 choice of Steve Parish and his fellow owners, but the former Stoke City manager is also the most expensive option.
The 55-year-old is willing to take on the challenge of trying to keep bottom-of-the-table Palace in the Premier League, but will not undersell himself and yesterday was resisting attempts to knock him down on price.
Iain Dowie, who led Palace to relegation before, is a cut-price alternative, but Parish is keen to find out how he would be seen by fans.
