Julian Speroni believes boss Dougie Freedman can guide Crystal Palace to an exciting new era and refuses to rule out a push for the play-offs next season, reports this is Croydon Today. The Eagles number one is confident the good times are returning to Selhurst Park thanks to Freedman who only took over at the beginning of the year.
"I think he has done a great job," said the Argentinian. "He has made us more solid in the second half of the season, not conceding so many goals and I think that has been the difference between staying up and going down.
"I think there is a lot more to come. He has big ambitions and can achieve a lot more here over the next few years.
"Who can tell in this division how we will do next season? I think a lot is to do with how you start.
"You look at a team like Norwich who have had back-to-back promotions when I think a lot of people thought they were just going to try and stay in the division.
"So who knows, I think we have a good chance because of the players we have at this club, plus the young players coming through, it's just a shame we didn't do it this season. But I do think there are a lot of positives to take and hopefully next season can be a better one."
