Crystal Palace are sweating on a deal for Shola Ameobi.
The Daily Mail says Palace manager Alan Pardew held talks with Ameobi, currently a free agent, on Tuesday.
Palace are trying to complete a move for the former Newcastle striker, but face late competition from QPR.
Ameobi has also been linked with West Bromwich Albion, but favours relocating to London.
