Palace defender Hill wants action against Sheffield Wednesday fans

Crystal Palace defender Clint Hill is demanding Sheffield Wednesday ban the 'fans' that attacked him at the end of yesterday's clash at Hillsborough.

The Daily Mail says the south Londoners secured Championship survival and condemned the Owls to League One in the dramatic 2-2 draw.

But the clash was marred by ugly scenes after the final whistle as supporters invaded the pitch - during which Hill was punched repeatedly by angry Wednesday fans.

And the versatile defender - who is expected to leave Selhurst Park in the next few days - wants those fans to be punished.

He said: "I am not going to make a thing of it but if the club ban them and they get what they deserve, I am happy. I know they are frustrated but should they be throwing punches at people?

"A good few landed and I am a big lad and can take them. But should they be throwing them?

"I was not enticing anybody. I just went and celebrated with the fans because that's where I thought the players had gone. There were none over there and the stewards dragged me off.

"Once one had a swing at me, everybody gets a bit brave and starts having swings at you. At one point there was maybe seven or eight on me."
