Crystal Palace have moved to trump QPR for Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker.
The Daily Mail says QPR boss Harry Redknapp wanted Caulker to form part of his back-four next season.
But Palace boss Tony Pulis is also interested in signing the former Tottenham defender, whose Cardiff deal carries an £8 million buyout clause.
It is understood Palace officials have made contact with Cardiff to express their firm interest in the centre-half.
